COP 2020 in Glasgow fällt aus
Gestern Abend kamen die ersten Gerüchte auf, dass die COP 2020 in Glasgow ausfallen wird:
Heute morgen kann die Verschiebung auf 2021 als relativ sicher angenommen werden:
I fear that only when there will be a high number of fatalities in the global north or a huge financial loss for companies of the global north we will see a change in politics concerning the climate crisis.
But then it will be too late.The president of the Cop26 conference, Alok Sharma: „The world is currently facing an unprecedented global challenge and countries are rightly focusing their efforts on saving lives and fighting Covid-19. That is why we have decided to reschedule Cop26,” he said.
“We will continue working tirelessly with our partners to deliver the ambition needed to tackle the climate crisis and I look forward to agreeing a new date for the conference.”That’s the problem: even that Cop president thinks that fighting Covid19 means saving lives but the climate crisis is just a crisis to tackle.

As long as people don’t understand that fighting global warming means saving millions of lives, nothing will ever really happen or change.
People are still in denial concerning the climate crisis or they just don’t care.
