Obwohl wir derzeit physischen Abstand voneinander halten müssen wegen des Coronavirus Ausbruchs, leben wir immer noch auf dem gleichen Planeten. Als Premiere findet das nächste GreenDrinks Treffen diesmal online statt zur Feier des 50. Geburtstags des Earth Days. Das diesjährige Motto ist #ClimateAction.
Gemeinsam mit den Parents for Future Köln, Bonn und NRW laden Green Drinks Bonn deshalb am 21. April zu einer digitalen #EarthRise Party mit internationalen Künstler*innen und Freund*innen ein.
Wir freuen uns, den US-Künstler, Wissenschaftler und Umweltaktivisten Barton Rubenstein als Special Guest aus Washington DC begrüßen zu können. Barton, der 2015 die non-profit Organisation Mother Earth Project mitgegründet hat, wird uns über die bevorstehende Installation seiner Mother Earth Sculpture (die erste in Europa!) in der UN-Stadt Bonn an der Rheinufer-Promenade am Bonner Bogen berichten.
Mother Earth Project hat auch das weltweite Parachutes For The Planet Projekt initiiert zusammen mit der jungen Umweltaktivistin und nationalen FFF Koordinatorin Kallan Benson. An dem partizipatorischen Kunstprojekt haben sich über 20 Bonner Schulen und Umweltgruppen (darunter die P4F Bonn und die lokalen Artists for Future) mit bunt bemalten Spielfallschirmen als eine Metapher zur Rettung unseres Planeten Erde beteiligt. Bei der online Earth Day Party wollen wir auch den 1. Geburtstag der P4F Bonn Gruppe feiern.
Das Special Earth Day online Meeting findet via Zoom statt und ist für Teilnehmer kostenfrei. Nach der online Registierung erhältst Du ein Passwort für den Eintritt.
Wer neu bei Zoom ist, kann dem Meeting vorab um 18.45 Uhr beitreten für eine kurze technische Einführung in die online Plattform.

Special Earth Day GreenDrinks Mixer with International Friends & Artists

Though we may be physically apart, we all share the same planet. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day on April 22 and join the global digital #EarthRise, we invite you to a special online GreenDrinks Mixer with local and international artists on April 21, 19-21h. The topic of Earth Day 2020 is #ClimateAction. The online party is co-hosted by Parents for Future Bonn, Cologne and North Rhine-Westphalia.
Our featured speaker will be Barton Rubenstein from Washington DC. Barton is a scientist, sculpturer, environmental activist and co-founder of the Mother Earth Project (MEP). He will tell us about the upcoming installation of his Mother Earth Sculpture (the first one in Europe!) on the Rhine River promenade in Bonn, which is the host city of the UN climate secretariat (UNFCCC).
Using artwork as the catalyst for bringing people together, MEP encourages schools and communities to paint Parachutes For The Planet Projekt as a metaphor for bringing the world back to a safe place. Barton co-directs the global parachute initiative with Kallan Benson, a young climate activist and national FFF coordinator.
